A Snowy Drive

We made it to Hazen!

It was a snowy trip! A trip that was a little if-y at times. We took off from Bismarck thinking we should maybe fill gas. Patrick trumped me and said we'll fill in New Salem. We passed two people in the ditch along Interstate. One which was the BSC Mystics bus that was being pulled out. We made it to New Salem and pulled in for gas. The gas stations didn't have power, so pumping gas wasn't an option. We continued North on Highway 31. After about 20 miles, we came across a cop that told us we couldn't continue because of power lines that were 2 feet off the road.

He didn't give us much of an option. He said we could turn around but they would be closing down Interstate shortly. They were also closing down the road between Hannover and Center. We decided to take a very muddy, gravel road and then go north and come back to the highway. We were going along well until we came acorss a downed power line on the gravel road. We stopped and thought about it. And decided not to risk it. We couldn't turn around, so Pat had to back up for about a mile. We finally got back to the highway and then it was clear sailing from there.

Here's a few downed power lines along Interstate.
