Secret Confessions of a Shift Worker’s Wife
• When winter hits, I hide jerky, trail mix, and corn nuts under your seat.
• I don’t really snuggle you the whole day when you are on night shifts and I’m not working. I get up really early and get all my chores done, and then by 7:15am when you get home I’m ready for a nap. I sleep with you until 8am then go about my day, but always make sure I get home about 2, so I can throw my sweats on and sneak back to bed, so I’m there when you wake up around 3pm.
• If it’s snowing, I take your work car and fill it with gas. It gives me comfort knowing you have a full tank when you take off.
We’re sneaking…but we do it all because we love you! Hope everyone has safe travels over the Christmas season!
