Throughout the day yesterday, I thought about what I was doing at that exact time 2 years ago. Getting my hair done, taking pictures, walking down the aisle, cutting into prime rib. Last night we went out and relived the whole day play-by-play. It was fun. We went out to eat and then for a drink on Fiesta's patio. We had the entire patio to ourselves, 76 degrees with no breeze, it was perfect. It's only been 2 years, but each year we add a vow. Last year, we vowed that no matter what we were doing, when one of us came home from work we would greet them at the door. It's what I look forward to at the end of each day. This year, we vowed to never come into the house on our phones. Our lives get so busy that any time we can squeeze in a phone call, we will. There's nothing that says your not important like someone walking in the room on their phone.
What other non-verbal cues do I send that I'm not even aware of? I like to think of things through Bekcham's eye. He can't understand words, he can only understand touch, love, feeling, tone. I'm going to try hard to spread love through actions and feelings, not words.
